In a thrilling Week 16 showdown, the Kansas City Chiefs secured a commanding 48-31 victory over the San Francisco 49ers, solidifying their playoff positioning as the regular season winds down. Both teams fought hard, but Kansas City ultimately emerged as the dominant force on their home turf. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes showcased his elite skills, throwing for an impressive 373 yards and four touchdowns, leading the offense with precision. His top target, Xavier Worthy, was virtually unstoppable, racking up 253 receiving yards and highlighting the Chiefs' aerial attack. Meanwhile, Christian McCaffrey's 106 rushing yards kept the 49ers competitive, but it wasn't enough to keep pace with Kansas City's offensive firepower. Defensively, Kansas City made significant contributions to their success, particularly through Kristian Fulton, who recorded four total tackles. The game turned decisively in the second quarter, when Mansoor Delane's interception shifted momentum back to the Chiefs, allowing them to extend their lead. Joey Bosa's two-and-a-half sacks kept pressure on Mahomes, but the Chiefs' balanced offensive effort ultimately proved insurmountable for San Francisco.
