In a thrilling opening matchup of the 2027 season, the Denver Broncos topped the Cleveland Browns 34-25, securing a crucial early victory. Both teams sought to set the tone for their campaigns, but it was Denver who emerged triumphant in this Week 1 showdown. Bo Nix was the standout performer for the Broncos, throwing for 283 yards and connecting on four touchdown passes. His precision and poise in the pocket were evident throughout the game, while Jaylen Waddle proved to be his favorite target, racking up 136 receiving yards. On the ground, Taylen Green led the Browns with 75 rushing yards, but it was the Denver air attack that proved most effective. Defensively, the Broncos made key plays when it mattered most. Bryan Bresee recorded a sack that disrupted Cleveland's offensive rhythm, while Patrick Surtain II's interception helped shift momentum back to Denver in the second half. The turning point came late in the third quarter when Surtain's pick set up another touchdown, allowing the Broncos to pull away and ultimately secure the win.
