In a tightly contested matchup, the San Francisco 49ers topped the Arizona Cardinals with a final score of 24-15, improving their season record in Week 3 of the 2026 campaign. The win was crucial for the 49ers as they look to establish themselves as contenders early in the season. Brock Purdy led the charge for San Francisco, throwing for three touchdowns and effectively managing the game. Christian McCaffrey added balance to the offense with his 73 rushing yards, while Michael Wilson stood out for Arizona, racking up 81 receiving yards despite the loss. Jacoby Brissett put up respectable numbers with 190 passing yards, but it wasn't enough to keep pace with the 49ers' offensive firepower. Defensively, the 49ers were anchored by Renardo Green, who recorded 10 total tackles, contributing to a strong overall effort. The turning point came in the second half when Budda Baker intercepted a crucial pass, but the 49ers' defense held firm, limiting the Cardinals' opportunities to capitalize on the momentum shift. Zaven Collins of the Cardinals was a standout on defense, registering 2.5 sacks, but it was the 49ers who maintained control to secure the victory.
