In a thrilling season opener, the Green Bay Packers narrowly defeated the Minnesota Vikings 28-24, kicking off the 2026 season with a hard-fought victory. Both teams showcased their talent, but it was the Packers who ultimately prevailed, setting the tone for their campaign. Leading the charge for Green Bay was quarterback Jordan Love, who threw for 285 yards and two touchdowns, complementing his performance with key completions throughout the game. Running back Josh Jacobs was a force on the ground, racking up 116 rushing yards, while wide receiver Matthew Golden contributed significantly with 78 receiving yards, helping to keep the chains moving and the scoreboard ticking. Defensively, the Packers were bolstered by Zaire Franklin's crucial interception, which proved pivotal in securing the win. The Vikings' Andrew Van Ginkel made a strong case with three sacks, putting pressure on Love, but it was Franklin's timely play that shifted momentum back to the Packers. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Minnesota's drive stalled, allowing Green Bay to hold off the Vikings' last-minute efforts and seal the win.
