The Pittsburgh Steelers opened the 2026 season with a thrilling 27-24 victory over the Atlanta Falcons, showcasing their resilience in a tightly contested matchup. Both teams were eager to start the season on the right foot, but it was the Steelers who emerged victorious in this Week 1 showdown. Drew Allar led the charge for Pittsburgh, throwing for 230 yards and two touchdowns, effectively managing the game and connecting with his receivers at key moments. Rico Dowdle also made a significant impact on the ground, racking up 88 rushing yards to keep the Falcons' defense on its toes. On the other side, Drake London stood out for Atlanta with 84 receiving yards, but the Falcons struggled to find the end zone consistently. Defensively, Jamel Dean's interception proved to be a game-changing moment, halting a potential scoring drive for the Falcons and allowing the Steelers to maintain momentum. Divine Deablo's nine total tackles for Atlanta showcased their effort, but it was Pittsburgh's timely defensive plays that ultimately sealed the victory. With this win, the Steelers set a positive tone for the weeks to come as they look to build on their early success.
