The Detroit Lions cruised to a commanding 49-14 victory over the Chicago Bears in Week 17 of the 2026 season, securing their playoff positioning with a dominant performance. With this win, the Lions not only showcased their offensive prowess but also sent a message to the rest of the league about their postseason readiness. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa led the Lions' offensive onslaught, throwing for 256 yards and four touchdowns, demonstrating pinpoint accuracy and exceptional decision-making throughout the game. Cam Skattebo contributed significantly on the ground, racking up 95 rushing yards, while Rashod Bateman emerged as a standout receiver, amassing 121 yards and finding the end zone. The Lions' offensive line provided ample protection, allowing Tagovailoa to exploit the Bears' secondary effectively. Defensively, the Lions stifled the Bears' attack, forcing them into difficult situations and limiting big plays. Chicago's Josiah Trotter made nine tackles, but it wasn't enough to turn the tide. The game's turning point came early in the third quarter when Tagovailoa threw his third touchdown pass, effectively putting the game out of reach and allowing the Lions to control the tempo for the remainder of the match.
