In a thrilling season opener, the Detroit Lions narrowly defeated the Seattle Seahawks with a final score of 31-28. Both teams were eager to start the 2027 season with a victory, but it was the Lions who ultimately secured the win in a tightly contested matchup. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was the star of the game for Detroit, throwing for an impressive 390 yards and leading the offense effectively. His favorite target, Jordyn Tyson, put on a show with 135 receiving yards, showcasing his ability to make big plays downfield. Meanwhile, Drake Maye did his best to keep Seattle competitive, tossing two touchdown passes that kept the game close. Defensively, the Seahawks were anchored by Aidan Hutchinson, who recorded three sacks, applying consistent pressure on Tagovailoa throughout the game. However, it was the Lions' ability to capitalize on their opportunities that marked the game's turning point, converting crucial drives into touchdowns when it mattered most. The Seahawks fought hard, but ultimately fell short, unable to overcome the Lions' offensive barrage in the final moments.
