The Dallas Cowboys narrowly defeated the Washington Commanders 21-18 in a tightly contested Week 2 matchup of the 2027 season. With both teams looking to gain momentum early in the season, the stakes were high, and the Cowboys managed to hold off a late-game charge from Washington. Trevor Lawrence led the Cowboys' offense with a standout performance, throwing for 210 yards and tossing two touchdown passes. Omarion Hampton was a force on the ground, racking up 101 rushing yards that helped Dallas establish a balanced attack. Chris Olave provided a bright spot for Washington, accumulating 100 receiving yards, but it wasn’t enough to propel the Commanders to victory. Defensively, the Cowboys faced a formidable challenge from Washington, particularly from Rueben Bain Jr., who recorded two sacks. However, it was the Cowboys’ ability to disrupt the Commanders' rhythm that proved crucial, especially during a key interception late in the game that secured the win. The turning point came when Dallas capitalized on that turnover, extending their lead and ultimately sealing the game.
