In a tightly contested battle, the Minnesota Vikings narrowly defeated the Atlanta Falcons, 21-18, in Week 12 of the 2026 season. Both teams were vying for playoff positioning, with the Vikings holding off a late surge from Atlanta to secure the win on their home turf. Brock Purdy shone for Minnesota, throwing for three touchdowns and leading his team to victory, while Cam Ward of the Falcons put up impressive passing numbers with 226 yards, though he couldn’t find the end zone. De'Von Achane added a solid ground game with 86 rushing yards, complementing Purdy's aerial attack, while Brandon Aiyuk stood out for Atlanta with 101 receiving yards in a losing effort. Defensively, Jalyx Hunt was a game-changer for the Vikings, racking up 2.5 sacks that disrupted Atlanta's offensive rhythm. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Hunt's pressure on Ward led to a crucial interception, allowing Minnesota to maintain their lead. With Jake Golday leading the tackle count for Atlanta with 11 total tackles, the Falcons fought hard, but it was the Vikings' timely defensive plays that ultimately sealed the victory.
