The Miami Dolphins topped the Detroit Lions 26-16 in a crucial Week 9 matchup, solidifying their position in the playoff race. Both teams came into this game looking to gain momentum, but it was Miami that ultimately prevailed, showcasing their resilience in critical moments. Jared Goff led the Lions’ offense with a strong performance, throwing for 241 yards and two touchdowns, while Isaac TeSlaa stood out as his favorite target, racking up 117 receiving yards. However, the Dolphins' Ollie Gordon II contributed significantly with a solid ground game, rushing for 66 yards that helped keep the chains moving and control the tempo of the game. Defensively, the Dolphins made key stops, highlighted by Calijah Kancey's sack that disrupted Goff's rhythm at a pivotal point in the game. Miami's defense held firm, allowing them to maintain the lead and ultimately secure the victory. The turning point came in the fourth quarter when Miami's defense stifled a potential Lions comeback, forcing a turnover that sealed the win.
