In a tightly contested battle, the New England Patriots narrowly defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 10-6 in Week 2 of the 2026 season. With both teams looking to gain early momentum in the season, this matchup proved crucial for their playoff aspirations. Offensively, Aaron Rodgers led the Steelers with 229 passing yards, but it was Drake Maye's lone touchdown pass that made the difference for New England. TreVeyon Henderson added a strong ground game to the Patriots' attack, finishing with 85 rushing yards, while Pat Freiermuth was the standout receiver for Pittsburgh, racking up 67 yards through the air. Defensively, the Patriots made key plays that ultimately swung the game in their favor, highlighted by DaQuan Jones' two sacks that pressured Rodgers throughout the contest. Marcus Jones' eight tackles helped stifle the Steelers' offensive rhythm, and while Asante Samuel Jr. intercepted a pass for Pittsburgh, the Patriots' defense maintained control when it mattered most, sealing the win with a strong fourth quarter performance.
