In a tightly contested season opener, the Seattle Seahawks narrowly defeated the New England Patriots with a final score of 13-10. Both teams were eager to start the 2026 season on a high note, but it was the Seahawks who emerged victorious in a game that showcased their defensive prowess. Drew Lock led the charge for Seattle, throwing for 187 yards while Jaxon Smith-Njigba was his top target, racking up an impressive 122 receiving yards. On the ground, Jadarian Price contributed significantly with 52 rushing yards, helping to keep the chains moving and the Patriots' defense guessing. Meanwhile, Drake Maye managed to throw one touchdown pass for New England, but it wasn't enough to secure the win. The Seahawks' defense played a pivotal role in the outcome, highlighted by Ernest Jones IV’s eight total tackles and Nehemiah Pritchett’s crucial interception. Seattle's ability to apply pressure and disrupt Maye's rhythm proved to be a game-changing factor. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Pritchett's interception halted a promising Patriots drive, allowing the Seahawks to maintain control and ultimately seal the victory.
