In a hard-fought opening game of the 2027 season, the Baltimore Ravens topped the Las Vegas Raiders 14-7, setting the tone for what promises to be an exciting year. Both teams came in looking to establish their identity, but it was the Ravens who came away with the crucial win at home. Lamar Jackson showcased his efficiency, throwing for one touchdown while managing the game effectively. However, it was Derrick Henry who proved to be the backbone of the Ravens' offense, racking up 90 rushing yards and keeping the chains moving. For the Raiders, Fernando Mendoza shined with 215 passing yards, but Jalen Nailor's 66 receiving yards weren't enough to tilt the game in their favor. Defensively, the Ravens made key plays that turned the tide, particularly through Ellis Robinson IV, who amassed six total tackles, ensuring the Raiders struggled to find rhythm. The game's pivotal moment came when Dru Phillips intercepted a critical pass from Mendoza, halting a potential scoring drive and allowing the Ravens to maintain their lead. Kwity Paye also made his presence felt with a sack, but it was the Ravens' cohesive defensive effort that ultimately sealed the victory.
