In a decisive Week 5 showdown, the Kansas City Chiefs topped the Pittsburgh Steelers with a final score of 22-3, solidifying their position as a force in the 2027 season. The victory was crucial for the Chiefs as they look to maintain momentum heading into the midseason stretch. Patrick Mahomes was the standout performer for Kansas City, throwing for 361 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his elite talent in a commanding offensive display. Tyquan Thornton emerged as his favorite target, racking up 130 receiving yards, while the Chiefs' run game provided enough balance to keep the Steelers' defense off-balance throughout the contest. Defensively, the Chiefs limited the Steelers to just three points, a testament to their dominant performance. The turning point came early in the second quarter when Mahomes connected with Thornton for a touchdown, shifting the momentum firmly in Kansas City's favor. Despite Derrick Harmon's impressive 2.5 sacks for Pittsburgh, they struggled to contain Mahomes, ultimately sealing their fate in this one-sided affair.
