In a commanding performance, the Washington Commanders topped the Dallas Cowboys 45-17 in their Week 2 matchup of the 2026 season. This victory not only boosts Washington's momentum early in the season but also serves as a statement against a division rival. Leading the charge for the Commanders was quarterback Jayden Daniels, who threw for an impressive 380 yards and six touchdowns while also contributing 48 rushing yards. His ability to find open receivers and command the field was instrumental in propelling Washington to a dominant offensive display. CeeDee Lamb provided some resistance for the Cowboys, racking up 124 receiving yards, but it wasn't enough to change the outcome. Defensively, the Commanders managed to keep the Cowboys' offense largely in check, with Daron Payne recording a sack that disrupted Dallas's rhythm. The turning point came early in the second half when Washington's defense forced a critical turnover, allowing Daniels to capitalize on the momentum and extend the lead. Despite Malik Hooker's efforts for Dallas, including an interception and a team-high seven tackles, the Cowboys struggled to regain control as Washington's offense continued to roll.
