In a tightly contested season opener, the New England Patriots topped the Seattle Seahawks 27-19, showcasing their offensive prowess while kicking off the 2026 season on a high note. The game was pivotal for both teams, as each looked to establish momentum early in the year. Patriots quarterback Sam Darnold delivered a solid performance, throwing for 278 yards and a touchdown, but it was TreVeyon Henderson who made a significant impact on the ground, racking up 88 rushing yards. A.J. Brown was the standout receiver for New England, pulling in 118 yards, providing Darnold with a reliable target throughout the game. Defensively, the Patriots were relentless, with Milton Williams leading the charge with 2.5 sacks, disrupting Seattle's offensive flow. The turning point came when Christian Gonzalez snagged an interception, halting a promising Seahawks drive and shifting momentum back to New England. The Patriots' ability to pressure the quarterback and capitalize on key opportunities ultimately secured their victory.
