In a decisive Week 4 matchup, the Carolina Panthers topped the Detroit Lions with a final score of 28-13, solidifying their position in the early stages of the 2026 season. The Panthers' victory was crucial as they aimed to maintain momentum and establish themselves as a contender in the league. Offensively, Bryce Young led the Panthers with a solid performance, throwing for one touchdown and managing the game effectively. However, it was Trevor Etienne who stole the show on the ground, racking up 99 rushing yards and keeping the Lions' defense on its heels. Meanwhile, Jared Goff threw for 184 yards for Detroit, but his efforts weren't enough to shift the balance in favor of the Lions. Defensively, the Panthers were formidable, highlighted by Bobby Okereke's 1.5 sacks that pressured Goff throughout the game. Jaycee Horn's interception was a pivotal moment, thwarting a potential Lions comeback attempt and shifting the momentum firmly in Carolina's favor. With Jack Campbell leading the Lions in tackles, his efforts were overshadowed by the Panthers' ability to dominate both sides of the ball when it mattered most.
