The Miami Dolphins kicked off the 2027 season with a decisive 46-27 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. Both teams entered the game eager to set the tone for the year, but it was Miami that established dominance early and never looked back. Randall Cunningham was the standout performer for the Dolphins, throwing for an impressive 384 yards and four touchdowns, showcasing his connection with receiver Matthew Golden, who racked up 143 yards through the air. The Dolphins' offense was relentless, effectively mixing the passing and running game to keep the Colts' defense on its heels. Defensively, Miami made crucial plays that shifted the momentum, including an interception by JL Skinner. While Montez Sweat had a strong showing for Indianapolis with six tackles and three sacks, it was Miami's ability to capitalize on key turnovers and apply pressure that ultimately dictated the outcome of the game. The turning point came in the third quarter when Cunningham's third touchdown pass extended the Dolphins' lead, effectively sealing the victory.
