The Jacksonville Jaguars secured a convincing 34-14 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 3 of the 2027 season. With this win, the Jaguars continue to solidify their standing in the competitive league, demonstrating their offensive prowess and strategic execution on both sides of the ball. Baker Mayfield was the standout performer for Jacksonville, throwing for 270 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his ability to find the end zone consistently. He connected with Jeremiah Smith, who led the receiving corps with 99 yards, making crucial catches that extended drives and kept the Buccaneers on their heels. Meanwhile, Bijan Robinson had a strong showing for Tampa Bay, rushing for an impressive 191 yards, providing the Buccaneers with a spark but ultimately falling short. Defensively, the Jaguars made critical plays to stifle the Buccaneers' momentum, highlighted by Jeffery Simmons who recorded a crucial sack. The turning point of the game came when Mayfield's three touchdown passes helped Jacksonville pull away in the second half, while the Buccaneers struggled to capitalize on their offensive opportunities despite Robinson's efforts. In a game that showcased both teams' abilities, the Jaguars' defense proved just enough to hold off a late-game surge from Tampa Bay.
