In a crucial Week 8 matchup, the Miami Dolphins topped the New England Patriots with a final score of 20-10, solidifying their position in the playoff race. With both teams vying for momentum in the 2026 season, the Dolphins delivered a strong performance at home, showcasing their offensive firepower. Tua Tagovailoa was the standout for Miami, throwing for 293 yards and two touchdowns, effectively leading his team down the field. Mike Washington Jr. added a solid ground game with 77 rushing yards, while Brenen Thompson was a reliable target, racking up 76 receiving yards. Together, they created a balanced offensive attack that kept the Patriots' defense on their heels throughout the game. Defensively, the Dolphins were able to stifle the Patriots’ offense, with Caleb Ransaw leading the charge with three total tackles. The game's turning point came when Miami's defense forced a critical turnover, allowing Tagovailoa to capitalize with a touchdown drive that extended their lead. Although Christian Wilkins from New England recorded a sack and Edgerrin Cooper snagged an interception, it wasn't enough to turn the tide against a determined Dolphins squad.
