In a decisive matchup in Week 2 of the 2026 season, the Carolina Panthers topped the Atlanta Falcons with a final score of 28-14. The victory was crucial for the Panthers as they look to establish themselves early in the season, while the Falcons sought to bounce back from a tough opening week. Cam Ward led the Falcons with 143 passing yards and a touchdown, but it was the Panthers' offense that shined brightly. Dont'e Thornton Jr. was the standout receiver, racking up 84 receiving yards, while the ground game was bolstered by a balanced attack that helped secure the win for Carolina. Defensively, the Panthers made key plays that shifted momentum in their favor, including an interception from Blake Cashman, which thwarted a potential scoring drive for Atlanta. The Falcons struggled to mount a comeback, and with crucial tackles from Donte Jackson unable to stem the tide, Carolina’s defense ultimately held firm to seal the victory.
