In a thrilling Week 3 showdown, the Washington Commanders topped the Seattle Seahawks with a final score of 49-35, securing a crucial victory early in the 2026 season. Both teams entered the game looking to establish momentum, but it was the Commanders who emerged victorious, showcasing their offensive firepower. Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels delivered an impressive performance, throwing for five touchdowns and leading his team with precision. Seattle's Jalen Milroe matched his intensity with a stellar 385 passing yards, but it was not enough to overcome the Commanders' relentless scoring. Jaxon Smith-Njigba shined for Seattle, racking up 235 receiving yards, and Jadarian Price contributed with a solid ground game, but ultimately, the Seahawks fell short in their bid for a comeback. Defensively, Washington's Sonny Styles led the way with five total tackles, while Jer'Zhan Newton applied pressure with 1.5 sacks, disrupting Seattle's rhythm. The turning point came in the second quarter when Leo Chenal intercepted a key pass, shifting momentum back to the Commanders and allowing them to build a lead that the Seahawks could not recover from. With this victory, Washington solidifies its status as a contender in the league.
