In a thrilling Week 1 matchup of the 2026 season, the Cleveland Browns narrowly defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars, with a final score of 59-56. Both teams fought fiercely, but Cleveland ultimately emerged victorious in a game that set the tone for the season ahead. Cleveland's offense was led by quarterback Taylen Green, who threw for 253 yards, while Harold Fannin Jr. contributed significantly with 90 receiving yards. On the other side, Trevor Lawrence was a standout for Jacksonville, tossing four touchdown passes. However, it was Bhayshul Tuten's remarkable rushing performance, racking up 278 yards, that kept Jacksonville in the hunt until the final whistle. Defensively, the Browns made critical plays that swung the momentum in their favor. Mekhi Blackmon's two interceptions proved pivotal, while Jared Verse's 1.5 sacks put pressure on Lawrence throughout the game. The turning point came in the fourth quarter when Blackmon's second interception halted a Jaguars drive, allowing Cleveland to seal the game and secure their hard-fought win.
