In a thrilling season opener, the Seattle Seahawks narrowly defeated the New England Patriots with a final score of 22-21. Both teams were eager to kick off the 2026 season on a high note, but it was the Seahawks who emerged victorious in a hard-fought battle. Leading the charge for Seattle was quarterback Sam Darnold, who showcased his talent with 318 passing yards and three touchdown passes, connecting effectively with his top target Cooper Kupp, who racked up an impressive 152 receiving yards. Meanwhile, Zach Charbonnet contributed with a solid ground game, adding 56 rushing yards to the Seahawks' offensive effort. Defensively, the Seahawks made key plays that shifted momentum in their favor. Jarran Reed's 1.5 sacks were pivotal, pressuring the Patriots' offense and disrupting their rhythm. The game's turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Seattle's defense held strong, allowing just a single point after New England attempted a two-point conversion to steal the win.
