In a tightly contested matchup, the New Orleans Saints topped the Atlanta Falcons 27-20 in Week 17 of the 2026 season, solidifying their playoff positioning as the regular season winds down. The stakes were high for both teams, but it was the Saints who came away with the crucial victory on the road. Tyler Shough led the Saints' offense with an efficient 194 passing yards, while Kendre Miller showcased his skills on the ground, racking up 129 rushing yards. Oscar Delp was a key target for Shough, amassing 104 receiving yards, and both players contributed significantly to the Saints' offensive success, keeping the Falcons' defense on their heels throughout the game. Defensively, the Saints made pivotal plays that ultimately sealed their fate. Justin Reid's interception was a game-changer, halting a potential scoring drive for Atlanta and shifting momentum back to New Orleans. The Saints' defense, anchored by Kaden Elliss's four total tackles, proved instrumental in stifling the Falcons' offense when it mattered most, ensuring the Saints held off their rivals for the win.
