In a tightly contested battle in Week 14 of the 2026 season, the San Francisco 49ers narrowly defeated the Los Angeles Rams by a score of 13-9. With playoff implications on the line, both teams fought hard, but it was the 49ers who emerged victorious in this defensive showdown. Brock Purdy led the charge for San Francisco, throwing for 242 yards and showcasing his ability to move the ball effectively through the air. Meanwhile, Kyren Williams provided a solid ground game for the Rams, rushing for 77 yards, but it wasn't enough to overcome the 49ers' offensive efforts. George Kittle also made his mark, contributing 63 receiving yards to help keep the chains moving for San Francisco. Defensively, the 49ers were anchored by Vita Vea, who dominated the line with 2.5 sacks, creating constant pressure that disrupted the Rams' rhythm. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Vea's relentless pursuit forced a critical turnover on downs, allowing the 49ers to secure their lead and ultimately seal the win. The Rams' inability to find the end zone proved costly, as San Francisco's defense held strong in key moments.
