The Minnesota Vikings held off the Detroit Lions with a final score of 20-13 in a tightly contested Week 3 matchup of the 2027 Madden franchise season. Both teams entered the game looking to build momentum, but it was the Vikings who emerged victorious, improving their record while the Lions faced a setback. Kyler Murray was the standout performer for Minnesota, throwing for 208 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his ability to lead the offense effectively. Justin Jefferson complemented Murray's efforts with a solid 81 receiving yards, consistently finding ways to get open and move the chains. On the ground, Jahmyr Gibbs kept the Lions competitive with an impressive 98 rushing yards, but it wasn't enough to secure the win. Defensively, the Vikings were bolstered by Derwin James Jr., who led the team with seven total tackles, helping to stifle the Lions' offensive efforts. The game turned decisively in the second half when Minnesota's defense forced a crucial turnover that shifted momentum and allowed the Vikings to capitalize with a touchdown drive, sealing their victory and keeping their playoff hopes alive.
