In a hard-fought contest, the San Francisco 49ers topped the Washington Commanders 24-17 in Week 6 of the 2026 season. With playoff implications on the line, both teams battled for momentum, but it was the 49ers who ultimately secured the victory on their home turf. Brock Purdy led the charge for San Francisco, throwing for 254 yards and one touchdown, showcasing his efficiency as the team's signal-caller. Meanwhile, De'Zhaun Stribling emerged as a standout receiver, racking up an impressive 162 yards to keep the chains moving. Christian McCaffrey contributed significantly on the ground with 64 rushing yards, providing a balanced offensive attack that kept the Commanders on their heels. Defensively, Romello Height was a force for the 49ers, recording two sacks that disrupted Washington's rhythm throughout the game. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Height's pressure led to a crucial turnover on downs, allowing San Francisco to maintain control and ultimately seal the victory. Despite Mike Sainristil's impressive 12 tackles for the Commanders, it wasn't enough to turn the tide in their favor.
