In a pivotal Week 5 matchup, the Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 28-16, improving their season record and solidifying their status in the playoff hunt. The win came at a critical time for both teams, as they aim to gain momentum heading into the middle of the season. Trevor Lawrence led the Jaguars’ offensive charge with two touchdown passes, showcasing his ability to find the end zone efficiently. Ameer Abdullah contributed significantly on the ground, racking up 79 rushing yards and providing a balanced attack that kept the Eagles' defense on their toes. Jalen Hurts threw for 213 yards for Philadelphia but struggled to find the end zone, with Saquon Barkley leading the receiving corps with just 47 yards. Defensively, the Jaguars made their mark with Josh Hines-Allen recording two sacks, disrupting Hurts' rhythm throughout the game. Jihaad Campbell of the Eagles was busy on defense, tallying eight total tackles, but it was the Jaguars' ability to pressure the quarterback that proved crucial. The turning point came in the second half when a key sack by Hines-Allen led to a turnover, allowing Jacksonville to extend their lead and ultimately secure the victory.
