In a thrilling Week 4 matchup, the San Francisco 49ers narrowly defeated the Denver Broncos with a final score of 38-36, keeping their playoff hopes alive in the 2026 season. Both teams battled fiercely, but the 49ers managed to outlast the Broncos in a high-scoring affair that showcased the talents of their star players. Leading the charge for San Francisco was quarterback Brock Purdy, who put on a passing clinic with an impressive 521 yards and five touchdown passes. Wide receiver Mike Evans also had a standout performance, racking up 246 receiving yards, proving to be a vital target for Purdy throughout the game. Despite the efforts of RJ Harvey, who struggled to find running room for the Broncos with only 17 rushing yards, it was the air attack that dominated the contest. Defensively, the 49ers made key plays that shifted momentum in their favor, particularly with Dre Greenlaw's timely interception. The Broncos' Nik Bonitto tried to keep them in the game with two sacks, but it was San Francisco's ability to clamp down in critical moments that ultimately sealed the victory. The game's turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Purdy connected with Evans for a touchdown that put the 49ers ahead for good, solidifying their win in a nail-biter.
