In a decisive showdown, the Detroit Lions topped the Green Bay Packers 27-17 in Week 18 of the 2026 season, securing their playoff positioning. This victory not only showcased the Lions' offensive prowess but also highlighted the Packers' struggles as they aimed to finish strong at home. Jared Goff led the charge for Detroit, throwing for 205 yards and two touchdowns, effectively orchestrating the Lions' offense. Isaac TeSlaa emerged as his primary target, racking up 94 receiving yards, while the ground game was bolstered by a balanced attack. Despite the Lions' aerial success, it was Goff's timely passes that kept the chains moving and the scoreboard ticking. Defensively, the Lions made critical plays that shifted momentum in their favor. Brian Branch's two interceptions proved to be game-changers, halting potential scoring drives for the Packers and providing Detroit with favorable field position. Kerby Joseph led the defense with eight tackles, ensuring that the Lions contained Green Bay's rushing threat, notably limiting Josh Jacobs despite his impressive 132 rushing yards. Ultimately, it was these defensive stands that paved the way for Detroit's victory.
