The Detroit Lions narrowly defeated the Carolina Panthers with a final score of 38-35 in a thrilling Week 4 matchup of the 2026 season. Both teams entered the game with high hopes, but it was the Lions who managed to secure a crucial victory to keep their playoff aspirations alive. Jared Goff led the Lions' offensive charge, throwing for 306 yards and demonstrating poise under pressure. Jahmyr Gibbs complemented the aerial attack with a strong ground game, racking up 94 rushing yards. On the other side, Bryce Young put up a valiant effort with two touchdown passes, while Jalen Coker shined as his top target, amassing 113 receiving yards. Defensively, Micah Parsons was a standout for Detroit, recording 2.5 sacks that disrupted Carolina's rhythm throughout the game. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Parsons’ relentless pressure on Young led to a critical turnover. Despite a strong tackling effort from Bobby Okereke, who finished with nine total tackles, the Panthers couldn't overcome the Lions' defensive prowess in the final moments.
