The New Orleans Saints topped the Washington Commanders 27-17 in a Week 2 showdown of the 2027 season. With this victory, the Saints improve their record early in the season, while Washington looks to regroup after a tough loss at home. Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels had a standout performance, throwing for 240 yards and rushing for an additional 56 yards, making him a dual threat on the field. His favorite target, Chigoziem Okonkwo, piled up 88 receiving yards, showcasing a strong connection that kept the Saints' defense on their toes throughout the game. Despite their efforts, it wasn't enough to secure a win. Defensively, the Saints made crucial plays that shifted momentum in their favor. D'Angelo Ponds' two interceptions were game-changers, stifling Washington's drives and giving New Orleans critical opportunities. Jonathan Greenard also contributed with a key sack, further pressuring Daniels and helping the Saints maintain control as they held off a late rally from the Commanders.
