The Seattle Seahawks topped the San Francisco 49ers with a decisive 38-20 victory in Week 16 of the 2027 season, solidifying their playoff hopes. The win was crucial for Seattle as they look to secure a favorable position heading into the postseason, while the 49ers face an uphill battle in the final weeks. Leading the charge for the Seahawks was quarterback Jalen Milroe, who threw for an impressive 348 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his ability to command the offense effectively. Wide receiver Seven Rashad was his favorite target, racking up 107 receiving yards and contributing significantly to the offensive explosion. Despite a solid performance from 49ers running back Kaelon Black, who managed 56 rushing yards, it wasn't enough to keep pace with Seattle's aerial assault. Defensively, the Seahawks were relentless, with Terrell Owens leading the team in tackles with seven. Anto Saka made his mark on the game with 1.5 sacks, applying consistent pressure on the 49ers' offense and disrupting their rhythm. The turning point came when AJ Harris intercepted a pass, shifting momentum firmly in Seattle's favor and allowing them to pull away with the lead in the second half.
