In a hard-fought battle, the Houston Texans topped the New England Patriots 31-19 in Week 3 of the 2027 season. This victory not only boosts the Texans’ confidence but also puts them in a strong position early in the season, as they look to solidify their playoff aspirations. Drake Maye led the charge for the Patriots, throwing for 285 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his arm talent and ability to distribute the ball effectively. However, it was A.J. Brown who made the biggest impact in the passing game, racking up 134 receiving yards to keep the Patriots competitive. On the ground, Ollie Gordon II led the Texans with 81 rushing yards, providing a balanced offensive attack that complemented their passing game. Defensively, Kayden McDonald was a standout for the Texans, recording 8 total tackles and 2.5 sacks, disrupting the Patriots' offense throughout the game. His pressure was pivotal in stalling New England drives, while Jalen Pitre's interception came at a critical moment, giving Houston the momentum it needed to pull away.
