In a thrilling Week 3 matchup, the Philadelphia Eagles narrowly defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a final score of 31-28. Both teams entered the game looking to establish momentum early in the 2027 season, but it was the Eagles who ultimately emerged victorious in a hard-fought contest. Jalen Hurts led the Eagles' offense with a stellar performance, throwing for 306 yards and showing poise throughout the game. Baker Mayfield kept the Buccaneers competitive with three touchdown passes, but it was Saquon Barkley’s powerful running, accumulating 99 yards, and Tyreek Hill's electrifying 161 receiving yards that provided the Eagles with the offensive spark they needed to secure the win. Defensively, the Buccaneers were led by Tykee Smith, who recorded nine tackles, but it was the Eagles' ability to make critical stops that changed the game's momentum. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Philadelphia's defense held Tampa Bay to a crucial three-and-out, allowing Hurts to orchestrate a game-winning drive. The Eagles' resilience proved decisive as they held off the Buccaneers, securing their second win of the season.
