In a commanding performance, the Houston Texans secured a decisive 34-17 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 12 of the 2027 season. With this win, the Texans solidified their position in the playoff race, while the Buccaneers struggled to find their footing in a competitive conference. C.J. Stroud was the standout for Houston, throwing for an impressive 370 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his ability to control the game. Nico Collins emerged as his favorite target, racking up a staggering 244 receiving yards, consistently breaking free from the Buccaneers' secondary. Bucky Irving led the ground game for Tampa Bay with 62 rushing yards, but it was clear that the Texans' aerial attack was the decisive factor in this matchup. Defensively, the Buccaneers were unable to contain the Texans' explosive offense, and while Yaya Diaby recorded 1.5 sacks, it wasn't enough to disrupt Stroud's rhythm. The game's turning point came late in the second quarter when Stroud connected with Collins for a 75-yard touchdown, extending Houston's lead and forcing the Buccaneers to play catch-up for the remainder of the game. Overall, the Texans' defensive effort, though not highlighted by standout performances, was instrumental in holding off any potential Tampa Bay comeback.
