In a dominating performance, the New England Patriots trounced the Washington Commanders with a final score of 37-0, solidifying their playoff position as the season winds down in Week 15. With this decisive victory, the Patriots showcased their strength on both sides of the ball, leaving the Commanders searching for answers as they face elimination from postseason contention. Drake Maye was the standout star for New England, throwing for 304 yards and three touchdowns, leading a high-powered offense that consistently overwhelmed the Commanders' defense. TreVeyon Henderson added a solid contribution on the ground with 74 rushing yards, while A.J. Brown was a key target in the passing game, racking up 112 receiving yards. The combination of Maye's precision and the offensive depth proved too much for Washington to handle. Defensively, the Patriots were relentless, effectively stifling any offensive momentum from the Commanders. Despite standout performances from Percy Butler, who recorded seven tackles, and Jer'Zhan Newton, who notched 1.5 sacks, Washington was unable to convert on crucial drives. The game's turning point came early in the second quarter when Maye connected on a 60-yard touchdown pass, shifting the momentum firmly in favor of New England and leaving the Commanders unable to recover.
