In a decisive matchup, the Detroit Lions topped the Buffalo Bills 27-7 in Week 2 of the 2026 season, making a strong statement early in the campaign. With this victory, the Lions showcased their offensive prowess, while the Bills struggled to find their rhythm. Leading the charge for Detroit was quarterback Jared Goff, who threw for 96 yards and a touchdown. Running back Jahmyr Gibbs was a standout on the ground, racking up an impressive 125 rushing yards, while tight end Sam LaPorta contributed significantly with 52 receiving yards, helping the Lions maintain control throughout the game. Defensively, the Lions made crucial plays that shifted momentum in their favor, highlighted by an interception from Derrick Barnes. Despite the Bills’ efforts, including a sack from TJ Parker and a team-high four tackles by C.J. Gardner-Johnson, they couldn't contain the Lions' offensive attack. The turning point came when Barnes' interception led to a pivotal touchdown, solidifying Detroit's lead and ultimately sealing the victory.
