In a thrilling season opener, the Minnesota Vikings held off the Green Bay Packers with a final score of 24-20, marking a strong start to the 2026 campaign. Both teams were eager to make a statement, but it was Minnesota that emerged victorious in this tightly contested battle. Kyler Murray was the standout performer for the Vikings, throwing for 248 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his arm strength and mobility throughout the game. Meanwhile, Green Bay's Christian Watson had a remarkable performance, racking up 168 receiving yards, though it wasn't enough to secure a win. Josh Jacobs led the Packers on the ground with 81 rushing yards, but the offense struggled to find consistency in critical moments. Defensively, the game was highlighted by key plays that shifted momentum. Harrison Smith's interception proved to be a turning point, stifling a potential Packers scoring drive and setting up a score for Minnesota. Although Green Bay's Devonte Wyatt recorded two sacks, it was the Vikings' ability to make crucial stops and capitalize on turnovers that ultimately secured their victory.
