In a commanding performance to kick off the 2026 season, the Buffalo Bills defeated the Houston Texans 33-16. The victory not only sets the tone for the Bills' campaign but also underscores their offensive firepower as they look to make a deep playoff run this year. Jim Kelly was the standout performer for Buffalo, throwing for 341 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his elite passing ability. While Arian Foster put up impressive numbers for the Texans with 156 receiving yards, it was not enough to keep pace with the Bills' potent offense. The Buffalo ground game also contributed, helping to control the tempo and sustain drives throughout the contest. Buffalo's defense played a crucial role, highlighted by Micah Parsons' dominant performance with three sacks that disrupted Houston's offensive rhythm. The turning point came in the second quarter when Parsons' pressure led to a critical turnover, allowing the Bills to extend their lead and seize control of the game. Despite a valiant effort from the Texans, particularly from Foster and Johnathan Joseph's five tackles, they couldn't overcome the Bills' balanced attack on both sides of the ball.
