In a tightly contested battle to kick off the 2026 season, the Seattle Seahawks topped the New England Patriots with a final score of 20-13. Both teams were looking to set the tone for the year, but it was the Seahawks who emerged victorious, showcasing their resilience and strategic execution. Leading the charge for the Patriots was quarterback Tom Brady, who threw for 283 yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Saquon Barkley of the Seahawks made his mark with 81 rushing yards, while Travis Etienne Jr. stood out in the receiving department for New England, racking up 107 yards. Despite Brady's efforts, the Patriots couldn't find their rhythm consistently against the Seattle defense. Defensively, the Seahawks made their presence felt, with Jared Verse dominating the line with three sacks, a key factor in disrupting Brady's timing. Kam Chancellor contributed with five total tackles, helping to stifle the Patriots' offensive drives. The turning point came in the fourth quarter when the Seattle defense forced a critical turnover, allowing them to maintain control and ultimately secure the win.
