In a thrilling season opener, the Dallas Cowboys topped the New York Giants with a commanding 56-35 victory. Both teams were eager to start the 2026 season on a high note, but it was the Cowboys who seized control early and never looked back. Dak Prescott was nothing short of spectacular, throwing for an astounding 492 yards and seven touchdowns, setting the tone for an explosive Dallas offense. CeeDee Lamb was his favorite target, racking up 204 receiving yards, showcasing his big-play ability while keeping the Giants' secondary on high alert throughout the contest. While the Giants struggled to contain the Cowboys’ offensive onslaught, they did see some bright spots on defense. Greg Newsome II led the team with four tackles, and Brian Burns contributed with a sack, but the defense simply could not find a way to stop Prescott and company. The turning point came in the second quarter when Prescott threw four touchdown passes, effectively putting the game out of reach and setting the stage for a dominant Cowboys season.
