In an exciting season opener, the Chicago Bears narrowly defeated the Carolina Panthers with a final score of 29-24. Both teams were looking to establish momentum early in the 2026 season, but it was the Bears who came out on top in a tightly contested matchup. Caleb Williams delivered a standout performance for Chicago, throwing for three touchdowns and effectively managing the game. D'Andre Swift was a force on the ground, racking up 113 rushing yards and keeping the Panthers' defense on its heels. On the other side, Bryce Young showcased his passing ability with 277 yards, but it wasn't enough to lead Carolina to victory. Defensively, the Bears were led by Devin Bush, who recorded five total tackles, contributing to a resilient unit that managed to hold off a late surge from the Panthers. The game's turning point came in the fourth quarter when Ephesians Prysock intercepted a pass, giving Carolina a chance to tie the game, but ultimately, they fell short. Jaelan Phillips also added pressure with two sacks, but it was Chicago's ability to capitalize on opportunities that secured their win.
