In a high-octane season opener, the Cincinnati Bengals dominated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a final score of 61-38. This matchup marked a statement victory for Cincinnati as they kicked off the 2026 season in style, showcasing their offensive prowess and leaving the Buccaneers searching for answers. Leading the charge for the Bengals was quarterback Joe Burrow, who put on a record-breaking performance with a staggering 536 passing yards and seven touchdowns. Ja'Marr Chase was his primary target, racking up an impressive 270 receiving yards, making it clear that the Bengals’ aerial attack is as lethal as ever. On the ground, Chase Brown contributed modestly with 42 rushing yards, but it was the passing game that truly stole the spotlight. Defensively, the Bengals were opportunistic, with Craig Woodson snagging an interception that shifted momentum in their favor. Despite the Buccaneers' efforts to mount a comeback, they struggled to contain Cincinnati's explosive offense. The turning point came in the second quarter when Burrow connected with Chase for a long touchdown that extended their lead, setting the tone for the remainder of the game and ultimately sealing the victory.
