In an impressive display of offensive firepower, the Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the New England Patriots 45-27 in Week 3 of the 2026 season. Both teams were looking to establish their dominance early in the season, but it was the Jaguars who took control and never looked back. Trevor Lawrence led the way for Jacksonville, throwing for 196 yards, while Maurice Jones-Drew put together a remarkable game, racking up 145 rushing yards and 134 receiving yards. Jones-Drew's versatility was key, as he accounted for multiple big plays that kept the Patriots' defense on its heels. Drake Maye managed to keep the Patriots competitive with two touchdown passes, but it wasn't enough to match the Jaguars' offensive onslaught. Defensively, the Jaguars were solid, with Jourdan Lewis leading the way with three total tackles. However, the game’s turning point came when Jacksonville's high-powered offense consistently exploited gaps in the Patriots' defense, stifling any hopes of a comeback. As the Jaguars maintained their momentum, the Patriots struggled to contain the relentless attack, leading to a decisive victory for Jacksonville.
