In a dominant display to kick off the 2026 season, the Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the Cleveland Browns 35-7. The Jaguars came into Week 1 eager to set the tone for the year, and they did just that with a commanding performance at home. Trevor Lawrence was the star of the show, throwing for 297 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his elite arm talent and poise in the pocket. Maurice Jones-Drew was a force on the ground, racking up 169 rushing yards, while Jimmy Smith was a reliable target, accumulating 154 receiving yards, making it a challenging day for the Browns' defense. Defensively, the Jaguars made their presence felt, with Jourdan Lewis grabbing an interception to halt any potential scoring drives from the Browns. The game turned when Jacksonville scored two quick touchdowns in the second quarter, effectively putting the game out of reach and allowing their defense to control the pace. Cleveland struggled to respond, failing to establish any rhythm as the Jaguars’ defense consistently stifled their efforts.
