In a closely contested season opener, the Green Bay Packers topped the Washington Commanders 24-16. This victory sets the tone for the Packers as they look to build momentum heading into the rest of the season, while the Commanders will need to regroup after a tough loss. Washington's Jayden Daniels showcased his arm strength, throwing for 241 yards and a touchdown, while Jacory Croskey-Merritt contributed a solid 68 rushing yards. Chigoziem Okonkwo was a key target, racking up 93 receiving yards, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Packers' balanced attack. On the defensive side, the Packers made crucial plays that helped secure their victory. Edgerrin Cooper led the charge with eight total tackles, while Joey Bosa's 1.5 sacks disrupted the Commanders' rhythm. An interception by Tre'Davious White proved pivotal, shifting momentum late in the game and sealing the win for Green Bay.
