In a commanding performance, the Kansas City Chiefs topped the Minnesota Vikings 45-28 in Week 8 of the 2027 season. This victory keeps the Chiefs firmly in the playoff hunt, showcasing their offensive prowess against a struggling Vikings team. Patrick Mahomes was the standout performer, throwing for an impressive 422 yards and four touchdowns, spreading the ball effectively across his receiving corps. Xavier Worthy led the way in receiving, racking up 137 yards, while Kenneth Walker contributed on the ground with 33 rushing yards, allowing the Chiefs to maintain a balanced attack throughout the game. Defensively, the Chiefs were able to apply pressure, with R Mason Thomas recording a sack that helped disrupt the Vikings' rhythm. The turning point came in the second quarter when Mahomes connected with Worthy for a touchdown that extended Kansas City's lead, putting them in control for the remainder of the contest. Despite a strong effort from Josh Metellus, who logged nine tackles for the Vikings, it wasn't enough to overcome the Chiefs' offensive onslaught.
