In a thrilling Week 12 matchup, the Las Vegas Raiders narrowly defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 34-28, solidifying their standing in the playoff race. With both teams vying for postseason positioning, this victory was crucial for the Raiders as they continue to build momentum late in the season. Las Vegas quarterback Fernando Mendoza was the star of the show, throwing for 311 yards and four touchdowns, showcasing his ability to deliver in clutch moments. On the receiving end, Dont'e Thornton Jr. had a standout performance, racking up 143 receiving yards and contributing significantly to the Raiders' scoring efforts. Meanwhile, Kansas City’s Kenneth Walker rushed for an impressive 139 yards, but it wasn’t enough to secure the win. Defensively, the Raiders were led by Roquan Smith, who tallied nine total tackles, helping to stymie the Chiefs' offensive rhythm. The turning point came in the fourth quarter when Mendoza connected on a crucial touchdown pass that put the Raiders ahead for good. Despite a valiant effort from the Chiefs' Chris Jones, who recorded a sack, it was the Raiders’ defensive resilience that ultimately sealed the victory.
